One thousand rare turtles will go on display this Sunday in Hanoi to celebrate the capital's 1,000th anniversary.
Elongated tortoises (Indotestudo elongata), impressed tortoises (Manouria impressa), and giant leaf turtles (Geoemyda grandis) are among the reptiles to be exhibited at Dam Bong Eco-Garden in Hoang Mai District, according to local news website VnExpress.
Some are over 80-years-old and weigh up to 30 kilograms, it added.
The organizer, KAT Group, will also display 1,000 coins and paper money dating back to the Ly, Tran and Nguyen dynasties.
One thousand farm tools used by Vietnamese people will also be showcased at the exhibition titled "Red River's Wet Rice Civilization", which will go on until October 15.
Admission is free.
