Vietnam 's wooden office furniture exports would continue to grow this year due to strong demand, the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City said.
It expects a 25-30 percent increase overall, and shipments to the US to increase by 18 percent, and to China and Japan by 15 percent and 11-12 percent respectively.
They are Vietnam’s major markets for wooden products.
Dien Quang Hiep, director of wood furniture producer and exporter Mifaco, said exports of low- and mid-priced segment, the most profitable for Vietnamese firms, would increase sharply.
Last year exports of wooden office furniture grew 45 percent and made up 6 percent of wood products exports.
